Garden Marketplace  & Growers Direct Sales

San Diego County has some of the richest resources for gardeners in the country. Much of its agricultural activity is devoted to specialty horticulture: very special garden plants grown by small and large local nurseries. Many of these botanical treasure houses are seldom open to the public. Additionally, there are scores of garden clubs and specialized plant societies with extremely knowledgeable members who can answer all kinds of home-gardeners’ questions. These are the people in our county with their hands literally in the soil, and they welcome chatting with you and love to share tips. A browse through the marketplace is like driving all over the county to find the very best plants.

Like Plants? Come See Us! San Diego Horticultural Society

Come say hello at the show! We don’t even care if you have a black thumb. We’re unabashed plant nuts who love to learn about them, talk about them, and meet new people to love plants, too. We welcome everyone who shares our interest, from beginner to professional, because we love to share our passion.

The San Diego Horticultural Society began in 1994 and our membership is well over a thousand.

The San Diego Horticultural Society meets at Congregation Beth Israel, 9001 Towne Centre Drive, San Diego, CA 92122. We meet on the second Monday of every month from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. Parking is free. Admission is free to members ($15 for guests).

In addition to great speakers, fascinating plant displays and plant vendors, meetings are an opportunity to mingle with other plant lovers of all kinds, from single species enthusiasts to nursery owners, new gardeners to professional breeders.

A diverse and neighborly group, we love to see new faces at our meetings. So mark your calendar today. Go to our website to find out about our great activities and more: www.sdhort.org.
