WINTER is the time to Buy or Trade – Low Interest Rates
If you’re looking to get the best possible deal on real estate, you should buy in January and February. Winter months is the time to buy.
1. If a seller list their property in the winter months they are motivated and will look at all offers.
2. Less buyers are out there so likely not to get into a bidding war.
3. You’ll know what to expect from a home and yard drainage from bad weather.
4. You can close easier and faster. All parties of the transaction have fewer deals going on including the mover so more customer service.
Back in the 70’s the average interest rate was 8.86%
Back in the 80’s the average interest rate was 12.7%. (that’s when I first bought)
Back in the 90’s the average interest rate was 8.12%
Back in the 00’s the average interest rate was 6.29%
Back in the 10’s the average interest rate was 4.07%
and TODAY the average interest rate is 6.0% . Interest rates are still historically low.
Don’t let the interest rates deter you from owning real estate. If you can actually buy real estate you should Do It. This is San Diego where demand out weighs supply, so your equity will be protected. It is also a good time to TRADE UP to multi units. San Diego has a housing shortage and it will be like that for a few decades which is why owing several doors as passive income will build wealth.
Let me know what you are looking for and I will put you on the automatic “watch” and when you see something you like, we will make the seller an offer they can’t refuse.
